Hail Dr. Robert Bunsen - the inventor of the Bunsen Burner.

Dr Robert Bunsen has inspired many musicians over the years. However, we were surprised to learn that John Lennon was among them. "What an impact the great German scientist had me on me." John said in the 1980 Playboy interview. "You see, back in his day, no one could succeed like Dr. Bunsen. But Paul thought "Dr. Robert" sounded a bit nicer."





We celebrate Bunsen Burner Day on his birthday March 31st (We're not making this up - it's a real holiday) in his honor, by playing the Beatles song in a most burning fashion.
